"...when all the wars are over, a butterfly will still be beautiful." -Ruskin Bond in Scenes From a Writer's Life
TIMES are difficult and stressful for many of us and many more in global conflict zones. What helps me is to focus on the small wonders of everyday life:
I had a heart-filling visit with my family over Thanksgiving. All are healthy, content, and enjoying their lives. I am full of gratitude.
And then there are the coincidences I think of of as proof of G-d.
A few days ago, I met a friend for a "Live at the Met" performance of Tosca at our local movie theater. I kvetched about the renovations I needed due to a recent water damage incident. My friend referred me to another friend who recently used two contractors for exactly the kind of work I needed done. I called them and scheduled appointments for bids right away. This shortcut my efforts to find help, and relieved my anxiety so I can start a project plan.
Another friend brought yummy homemade cookies. That reminded me to visit an elderly neighbor I hadn't seen for too long. We enjoyed our visit and I gave her the cookies because I could, and because my HgA1C is high after all the holiday indulgences so I need to regroup.
Yesterday, I got the edited audiofiles from AUDAVITA, reviewed them, and send comments back for one last review. I'd rather get it right than rushed. I'll post again as soon as it's available. I think this link will take you to a sample--the first chapter:
